Big Island Day 2 (May 7, 2009)

Day 2 of our vacation started with a 5 minute walk from our hotel to Sea Paradise loading site.

We took the Deluxe Breakfast Snorkel Cruise on a nice catamaran that went down the coast and stopped at Amphitheater and Kealakekua Bay. The boats can hold about 40 people, but we had 13 total. 6 divers, 4 snorkelers, and 3 crew.

Our hotel from the boat.

We got back at 1:30, had to be checked out by 2 so it was a mad rush!
After we checked out, we continued south to do some coffee tasting in Captain Cook (B on map) at Greenwell Farms. This is our tour guide and the chameleon he pulled out of a tree for us.

The drive from Keauhou to Volcano is almost 3 hours so it took most of the rest of the day. We arrived at Kileaua Military Camp at 6:30pm to checkin to our cabin. In the distance we could see glowing clouds lingering above the mountain before sunset.
We took a quick peak at the Kileaua overlook before heading to Thai Thai for dinner in Volcano Village.
Day 3 is coming soon...
